More Than Just a Board.
We are a specialized Applied Skills School and Coastal Adventure Guides. We make the 'wild' accessible.
Why We Exist
Getting on a paddleboard is easy. But truly understanding the water—how to navigate currents, harvest your own food, or explore the coast safely—that takes more than just gear. At West Coast SUP, we don't just put you on the water; we teach you how to feel at home on it.
Drew Climie
Lead Educator & Owner
"My philosophy is simple: competent paddlers are safe paddlers. Using the IDEAS Teaching Model, I teach you why the water moves the way it does, not just how to stand up. From Intro lessons to Instructor Training, my goal is to make you an independent navigator."
Dennis Gamboa
Lead Guide & Angler
"With 30+ years of fly-tying and fishing experience, Dennis leads our unique 'Harvest Series.' He brings a depth of local knowledge that turns a regular paddle into a 'sea-to-table' adventure. He teaches you how to ethically source food from the ocean."
The West Coast Difference
The School
We don't just teach; we certify. We are a sanctioned Paddle Canada school authorized to issue national certifications.
The Harvest
We are the only school in the region teaching SUP Crabbing and Fly Fishing. We turn the ocean into a pantry.
The Equipment
No generic foam boards. We use touring-grade gear meant for real exploration and long-distance paddling.
